This is a yummy moist chocolate cake. This came from a girl who has been my friend since grade school. I think of her every time I make it. You poke holes in the warm cake and pour a delicious chocolate icing in the holes. Delicious!!

Verlynn’s Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/4 cup baking cocoa
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup milk
- Icing
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk
- 1 cube butter
- 2 tablespoons baking cocoa
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- dash salt
Instructions
- Cream butter, sugar and eggs. Mix remaining ingredients and then add 1 cup hot water. This might seem a little runny. Pour in a 13 x 9 baking dish sprayed with baking spray. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes.
- Icing
- In a sauce pan add all ingredients except vanilla and cook over medium heat until boiling. Cook 3 minutes. Remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Poke holes in warm cake and pour icing over warm cake
